The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) is awarding 115 scholarships, totaling more than $345,000 to high school and college students in Tucson, Sahuarita and Nogales for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Scholarships range from $600 to $13,200, and may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and/or equipment.

Most of the winners will attend Arizona schools, including the University of Arizona and Pima Community College. Others will go to Stanford, Georgetown, Yale, University of Missouri and Brigham Young University, among other colleges. Some are current college students, while others are recent high school graduates.

“Many of this year’s scholarship recipients are first-generation college-bound students who show great promise and need some assistance to achieve their dreams,” said Marthena Maley, program officer at CFSA, in a statement. “Some scholarships were established to benefit students attending specific schools or those working toward a degree in certain areas of study while others allow flexibility based on the students goals.”

Money for scholarships at CFSA comes from donor-designated funds, corporate funds and the Community Foundation’s General Scholarship Program.
