Shooting at Mansfield Park leaves one dead

On Tuesday, June 11, at 9:35 p.m., officers from Operations Division West responded to a report of a shooting at Mansfield Park located at 2000 North 4th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering gunshot trauma near the south end of the park. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to continue the investigation. They spoke to potential witnesses and examined physical evidence at the scene. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and the Tucson Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.

The victim in this incident was identified as 50-year old Niles Ceasar, a Tucson resident.
