On Sunday around 1:40 p.m., the Pima County Sheriff's Department recieved a 9-1-1 call from a 50-year-old female hiker in distress at Catalina State Park.

Rescuers flew the dehydrated hiker out of Catalina State Park, north of Tucson, according to Tom Peine, a spokesman for the department.

A Customs and Border Protection helicopter dropped a crew, including deputies, into a rugged section of the park to assist the 50-year-old woman. She was hiking on the Mira Springs Trail.

The distressed hikers was given fluids and walked to the helicopter.

She was transported to Oro Valley Hospital.
