PCC Baseball Drops Two Games in Las Vegas

The Pima Community College baseball team (1-2-1) couldn’t get its offense going in the first day of the College of Southern Nevada Tournament in Las Vegas on Thursday as the Aztecs get shut out in both games.

The Aztecs managed three hits in their lost to College of Southern Idaho 9-0 in seven innings. Alec Beyersdorf (Catalina Foothills HS), Luis Robles (Flowing Wells HS) and Juan Gamez (Cienega HS) each had a hit for Pima. Southern Idaho scored six runs in the 6th inning to help its cause. Cole Plouck (Empire HS) took the loss as he pitched 3.1 innings with two strikeouts and four walks.

The Aztecs had two hits in their 1-0 loss against the College of Southern Nevada in the second game of the day.

The Aztecs gets another crack at both teams on Friday as they play the College of Southern Idaho at 11 a.m. and the College of Southern Nevada at 2:30 p.m.
