Shoot Out at the Chaparral, an Old Tucson Signature Event, takes Tucson by storm Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23. Gunfighters and Western Characters from all over the country converge at Old Tucson to compete for titles in front of judges from the film and performance industries.
Lawdawgs, Outlaws, Wild Women of the West, and a variety of western characters will compete each day for the title of "Last, and Best, Gunfight Group Standing." Presented by Old Tucson in conjunction with Dr. Buck Productions, the Shoot-Out promises to be one of the biggest and most unique competition experiences ever created in the history of Gunfighter group gatherings!
Unique characteristics of this event include:
- The Competition: Overall show content, characters, presentation, acting skills, wardrobe, showmanship and safety
- The Judges: Who hail from the performance and film industries
- The Venue: The original Ranch House set made famous by the TV series the High Chaparral! The competing Gunfight and Reenactment groups won't be dispensing lead and six gun justice in front of false façade sets - they will feel like they are actually "shooting" on location!
The event includes a variety of Artisans & Crafters offering up items such as hand crafted decor, personalized "Silhouette" creations, leather goods and other rare finds. Plus, an authentic 1880's Cowboy presentation complete with amazing displays of horsemanship by official Arizona historian Lee Anderson and his trained horse Concho.
Just a few spur jingles away, Old Pueblo Gunfighters will host an interactive event and performance "Duel in the Sun Cowboy Fast Draw." Guests will witness not just some of the Fastest Guns in the Southwest, but also can test just how fast they would have been back in the Old West by participating in the Town Alley Shootout.
