During Hunger Action Month, a group of architecture-loving teams will call attention to the region’s hunger problem one food can at a time at the Park Place mall, Park Place, 5870 E. Broadway.
Teams will have eight hours to build sculpture installations using only canned food. The most creative “Canstruction” will be awarded on Oct. 4 and all food donated to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on Oct. 7.
Building takes place Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; the award ceremony is Oct. 4 at 6 p.m.; the display runs through Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013.
Park Place, in partnership with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Southern Arizona Chapter, for the benefit of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Canstruction is part of the 2013 AIA Southern Arizona Architecture Week and is part of a national organization working with the architecture community nationwide to raise donations for food banks.
