Mike Doty and Oliver Harris combined on a five-inning perfect game as the Pusch Ridge baseball team  downed Patagonia 19-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

The two pitchers did not allow a base runner in five innings and cruised to an easy win. Doty went four innings, striking out seven of the 12 batters he faced. Harris relieved him in the fifth and retired all three batters. The game was called after that due to the 10-run rule.

In essence the game was already over before Doty threw a pitch. The offense staked him to a 7-0 lead after the first half inning. It was 8-0 heading into the fourth and the Lions again exploded for 11 runs.

17 Lion players saw action in the game, with eight getting hits

Ryan Penny had a monster day at the dish. He was a perfect 3-3 with a double and two triples, he scored three times and drove in five runs.

Kyle Hammond and Gabe Salcido also scored three times, though Hammond did it without the benefit of a hit. He was hit by a pitch, drew a walk and reach on a Patogonia error. He also added an RBI for good measure.

Chad Willis drove in three and scored twice.

The Lions remain No. 2 in the Division IV state rankings. At 14-2 they trail sectional rival Desert Christian, who have yet to lose a regular season contest. With two games left, the Lions are poised for a top-four
