Ironwood Ridge played like the No. 5 team in the state in their dismantling of Maricopa on Thursday. The Nighthawks dominated on both offense and defense in their 16-0 win.

Emily Robinson and Kelly Decker combined on a one-hitter. Robinson got the start and the win.

The Nighthawks’ offense exploded out of the gate. They scored seven in the first and six in the second leaving no doubt about the outcome of the game.

Lexi Orth drove in three runs and scored twice, as she went 2-4 with a home run. Robin Porter also hit a solo shot.

Reyna Bondi also had three hits on the day, while six Nighthawks scored two runs apiece.

The Nighthawks improved to 14-3 and have all but clinched a top-8 seed and a first round bye. They close out the regular season on Tuesday with a game against Sabino.
