Canyon Del Oro participated in the Dobson Ranch Invitational on Oct. 5-6, placing fourth as a team against 21 other schools from Division I and II.

Perry High School won the tournament with a team total of 434. Rounding out the top three were Brophy High School and Desert Vista, tying with a tally of 438.

CDO golfed 444 as a team, led by Jaime Waltmire’s fourth place individual finish of 107.

Also competing for CDO was Frankie Wu (108), placing sixth individually, Chris Meyers (113), placing 19th, Eric Wu (116), placing 32nd, Daniel Rowland (118), placing 40th, and Austin France (135), 74th.

Ironwood Ridge also competed in the event, placing seventh as a team. Eric Barna led the Nighthawks with a 12th place finish individually, hitting 110. Teammates Ruben Ruiz and Kevin Goldstein each golfed 115, tying for 28th place.

Desert Vista’s Matt Liringis won individual play, golfing 101 and beating his nearest competitor, Desert Mountain’s Ian Hagener, by four strokes.
