The Canyon Del Oro softball team stayed alive in the elimination bracket of the Division II State Tournament. The Dorados downed Kellis High School 7-1 and now await the loser of Marana and Cactus.

Kellis took an early 1-0 lead after half an inning, but the Dorados came back and scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning and never looked back. They added three more in the fourth and a single run in the sixth to eliminate Kellis from the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Gabrielle Blevins scattered three hits to earn the win for the Dorados.

Rebecca Ziegler and Makenzie Sullivan each hit home runs, while Samantha Nettling hit a pair of doubles for CDO.

Marana plays Cactus and Ironwood Ridge plays No. 1 Verrado on Monday afternoon. The winners of those two game meet on Wednesday, while the losers will play on Tuesday
