Canyon Del Oro used a big fifth inning to get past Tucson High and advance to the second round of the Division II State Baseball Tournament.

The visiting Badger struck first with a two run opening inning, but the Dorados came right back and added two of their own in the bottom of the first.

The game was tied at three when the Dorados scored four runs in the fifth. The Badgers scratched out a lone run in the seventh, but could not erase the lead.

Gabe Benevides got the win, scattering just four hits on the day, while Erick Migueles blasted two home runs to pace the Dorado offense.

The No. 10 Dorados will travel to the Phoenix area to face No. 7 Verrado on Tuesday in the second round of the playoffs. Verrado had a first round bye.
