Former Mountain View basketball player Aaron Anderson just finished his first season of professional basketball in Portugal and had a very successful season. He was honored by EuroBasket for his efforts.

The 6-7 Anderson played in the post for CAB Madeira in the Portugese league. He was named second-team All-League and to the All-Import (non-European) Team as a forward. Anderson led the league in rebounding and averaged over 13 points and 13 rebounds a game.

Anderson played one season at Central Arizona before transferring to Kennesaw State, where he was a three-year starter. He expects to return to Europe next season, but does not expect to play in Portugal.

CAB Madeira finished third in the league but was swept in the playoffs after all three Americans were sent home for financial reasons.

“It came down to a money thing so we were asked to go home or play another month for free,” said Anderson.
