The Marana baseball team closed out the 2014 season with a 3-2 win over Casa Grande. Despite a winning record, the Tigers’ season appears to be over.

The Tigers improved to 10-8 with the win, but are ranked just 38 in Wednesday’s poll. Marana won their final two games of the season, but had a costly five-game losing streak that will cost them the playoffs.

The Tigers did the bulk of their offensive damage early on, getting a run in each the first and second innings. Casa Grande got a run in the fourth and fifth innings, but Marana added their third in the bottom of the third.

The two teams combined for just six hits, three each.

Travis Howard got the win, while Jake Thompson picked up the save.

Marana finishes the season at 16-10 overall.
