The Pusch Ridge softball team fended off a pair of rallies ad downed St. Gregory 12-8 to close out the regulars season on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lions jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, thanks to a four-run second inning and led 6-1 heading into the bottom of the third.

The Lions answered in the next inning scoring five runs, and adding a sixth in the next inning. Down 12-5 St. Gregory tried to rally in the seventh and managed to score three runs before the Lions got out of the inning and earned the wins.

It was not a clean game, each team committed six errors. Emma Stambaugh was 4-5 at the plate with two RBI’s and two runs scored. Maddie Dowdle had three hits, drove in three and scored twice. Karli Schmidt scored three times in the contest.
