Not only did CDO and Ironwood Ridge earn top-eight seeds and first round byes, but if they win their opening game they would meet in the quarterfinals.

The Dorados will get the winner of the Vista Grande and Sunnyside. TheDorados are 3-0 against the two teams, including a pair of wins over the Blue Devils. CDO has won 16 in a row and have scored 10 or more runs in five of their last six games, scoring 63 runs in their last three games.

The Nighthawks will get the Flagstaff/Tucson winner. Ironwood Ridge beat Tucson High 5-2 in the first game of the season.

Marana had some struggles at the end of the season, but will host Desert Edge on Saturday and 10 a.m. The Scorpions are riding a four-game win streak and have been victorious in seven of their last eight games.

If Marana wins, they would travel to Yuma Kofa on May 6.

Pusch Ridge earned the No. 14 seed and will face St. Johns from Northern Arizona on May 3 at the Rose Mofford Sports Complex in Phoenix. Both teams are .500 on the regular season. The Lions have won three of four games, while St. Johns lost their final two games of the regular season.

The winner will play No. 3 Veritas Prep on May 9.

Two area teams missed the postseason. Mountain View made a late push, but climbed to No. 27 in the rankings. While 24 teams make the field, only the top-22 qualified this season and No. 28 and No. 32 Camp Verde earned automatic berths for finishing second in their sections.

Catalina Foothills was just 1-17 in regular season games and also did not qualify.
