The Pusch Ridge baseball team scored seven runs in the first inning and cruised to a 14-2 road win over Tombstone on Tuesday afternoon.

Three Lions, Phillip Tanner, Kyle Hammond and Luke Haines, each drove in three runs. Tanner also scored three times, while Haines and Hammond scored twice. Ryan Penny added two RBIs and two runs on the day.

The Lions pounded out 11 hits, drew nine walks, had four batters hit by a pitch. All told they had 24 base runners on the day.

After Pusch Ridge went up 7-0, it was Tombstone who scored the next two runs, getting runners home in the second and third. Still up 7-2, the Lions went back to work scoring three in the fourth and four in the fifth.

Senior pitcher Jacob Frithsen went the full seven innings, earning the win, while striking out five and not allowing a walk.

Second ranked Pusch Ridge improved to 13-2 in regular season games, and are 18-4 overall.
