Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley has changed its name to Oro Valley Hospital.
The decision comes after extensive research, as well as feedback from area residents, patients, hospital employees and physicians, a release said.
“Overwhelmingly, they chose Oro Valley Hospital as our name,” said Shawn Strash, the hospital’s chief executive officer. “Changing our name to Oro Valley Hospital allows us to have a stronger connection to our community and to better align with what area residents already call us. Our hospital is truly a community hospital, designed to provide high quality medical care close to home. This demonstrates that we listen to our constituents.”
Removal of the hospital’s existing signage began Feb. 25. A temporary sign is now installed. New signage should be installed by April.
Oro Valley Hospital remains a part of Northwest Healthcare, which includes Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital, Rancho Vistoso Urgent Care and Outpatient Services, La Paloma Urgent Care and Physician Offices, Marana Urgent Care and Outpatient Services, Ina Urgent Care, Northwest Allied Physicians, The Women’s Center, and other affiliates.
