2 MUSD schools offer free summer meals

Free breakfasts and lunches are being provided to children within the Marana Unified School District through its participation in the in the federal government's Summer Food Service Program.

Meals are being served at two elementary schools, Desert Winds and Roadrunner, starting this week and extending through Aug. 5.

Breakfast is served at Desert Winds, 12675 W. Rudasill, from 7 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday except for July 4. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

At Roadrunner, located at 16651 W. Calle Carmela, breakfast is served from 7 to 8:30 a.m., with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In accordance with all USDA rules and regulations, breakfast and lunch meals are provided to all children without charge, and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, a release said. "There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service," it continued.
