Catalina State Park’s 30th anniversary celebration will be held on May 4, 2013.
Admission to the park and all of the activities will be free that day. Some of the activities will include: guided hikes starting at 7 a.m., Richard Boyer’s “Bighorn Basics” talk, the Tucson Orienteering Club’s beginning orienteering course, Assistant Manager Jack McCabe’s tour of Romero Ruin and more.
There will also be live musical performances, food trucks, informational booths, and presentations.
The celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. and will wind down about 4 p.m. with the official ceremonies between 11 a.m. and noon.
The festivities start up again at 7 p.m. with Star Night – a great chance to explore the night sky through astronomers’ telescopes.
Cost: Admission is free
