In February, the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit developed information that a person in the Tucson area was downloading and sharing child pornography on the Internet.
The investigation led detectives to a residence in the 400 Block of West Orange Grove Road.
On April 9, detectives served a search warrant at the residence. During the service of the search warrant detectives located evidence that implicated Joseph Henry Kozak, 38, as the suspect involved in the downloading and sharing of child pornography. The investigation revealed that Kozak had downloaded and shared nearly 10,000 photos and videos containing child pornography and was among the top sharers in the state of Arizona.
Kozak was found and arrested at his work.
Kozak was booked into Pima County Jail on 20 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. His booking photo is attached below.
The Tucson Police Department urges parents to continually monitor all of their children’s Social Media Accounts to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or any others they may utilize. Knowing and monitoring your child’s online friends, connections and conversations is crucial for their safety.
