Bill Beard republican

Bill is a 4th generation Tucsonan. He graduated from Flowing Wells High School in 1980. He was actively involved in both the Future Farmers of America winning multiple state and national awards for Horticulture and was a proud member of the National FFA Choir. He was also active in many vocal music groups as well winning multiple gold awards for excellence.

He attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in Agriculture Education and Horticulture in 1984. He was active in multiple choirs. He was very active in the Alpha Tau Alpha fraternity serving as President in his final year.

He taught Vocational Agriculture in Maricopa, Az and later made Landscape Contracting his main professional focus. For the past 27 years Bill has been a manager, supervisor and owner of several Landscape firms. He spent 14 years as the owner/operator of Arizona Sunrise Landscaping achieving the highest award for residential landscape installation by the Arizona Landscape Contractors Association. He is currently the Landscape Superintendent for the Stone Canyon Club in Oro Valley, Az. He has managed/owned firms with multi-million dollar contracts for both federal, state, county and city governments. He has managed staffs in excess of 100 many times as well.

His friends and family have been his passion. He has been a parent and a loyal and fierce friend. He is dedicated to his partner of 5 years, Al. He is a dog lover (4 current, 1 English Mastiff, 2 Basset Hounds and 1 mixed breed).

He is a strong advocate for quality education for the next generation. His advocacy has been concentrated with the Board of Directors for the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus. He has served as Vice President, Secretary and is currently the Treasurer of the Board. Music is a passion as he is an alumnus of the Boys Chorus.

He has been an active member of the University of Arizona Community Chorus.

His passion for government has existed for many decades. It was sparked by a 6th grade Civics class at Steele Elementary in Tucson, Az. In Mr. Tuttle’s class he recalls that every student was required to learn one fundamental rule of our system of government. When you draw a paycheck from the government, whether you are the President, Congressman, Dog Catcher of Trash Collector you have only ONE fundamental responsibility… you must at all times Protect the Rights of the Citizens. No matter what else may be in your job description, if you fail this first rule you are in violation of your contract and your oath of office.
