The night sky over the Triangle L Ranch Bed and Breakfast May 21 in Oracle will be filled with rockin’ blues and lively honky-tonk music for the third annual Kevin Pakulis Ranch Party.

Pakulis is an award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist who achieved national attention with his debut album “Yeah Yeah Yeah” in 2004. His songwriting ranges from introspective and reflective to satirical and political, from rocking blues anthems to quiet acoustic pieces, according to his website, www.kevinpakulis.com.

Pakulis and band members Larry Lee Lerma on bass, Ralph Gilmore on drums, and Duncan Stitt on keyboards are drawing attention to the Tucson music scene. Music from the band’s second album, “Mockingbird Radio,” released in late 2007, was likened by some critics to guitar masters Mark Knopfler and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Audiences can expect many tunes from Pakulis’ latest CD release, the charismatic and sincere “Shadesville,” as well as crowd favorites from earlier recordings.

Joining the band in the outdoor concert are Tucson’s honky-tonk honeys, The Last Call Girls. Lisa and Nancy McCallion have been singing together since high school.

They will perform many original tunes by McCallion, a local singer-songwriter and the founder of The Mollys, a Tucson-based, folk-rock quintet influenced by Celtic and Tejano music, as well as some new takes on traditional tunes.

They are backed up by former Mollys’ accordionist Kevin Schramm, multi-instrumentalist Tom Rhodes, and Cowboy Mike Joyal on drums.
