Four area teen girls have been chosen to participate in the Cities of America National 2009 Miss Jr. Teen pageant in Phoenix on Sunday, March 15.

Jasmine Love and Brooke Duncan of Marana, Dominique Brown of Oro Valley, and Kayla Thill of Pima County, will participate in the event, which will feature casual and formal wear modeling and an interview with pageant judges.

The winner of the Phoenix competition will go onto the Cities of America national event held in Orlando, Fla. More than $60,000 in prizes and scholarships will be given out at the national competition.

There is no cost to the girls for participating in the pageants. Community businesses, organizations and individuals may sponsor the girls in their efforts. Through sponsorship, each contestant receives all the necessary training, rehearsals and financial support to compete in the Phoenix event.
