Arts and crafts of all kinds will be on display and available for sale at this weekend's two-day Oro Valley Festival of the Arts, Nov. 28 and 29 at Oro Valley Marketplace.
Dozens of local artists are showcasing jewelry, ceramics, sculptures, paintings and more "in what should be an excellent shopping opportunity for folks looking for that one-of-a-kind gift this holiday season," a release said.
Admission to the event is free of charge.
The festival, of which the Town of Oro Valley is the title sponsor, takes place at Oro Valley Marketplace, on the southwest corner of Tangerine and Oracle roads.
Activities run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29.
Various food vendors will provide sweet treats, baked goods and a variety of all-American fare to hungry festival-goers. Holiday music is being piped throughout the outdoor festival, and Santa Claus himself will make a special appearance (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) both days.
Proceeds from the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts will benefit the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance's educational programs. Also, donations received at the festival's gift-wrapping station will aid area schoolchildren.
