Tohono Chul Park begins its fall concert series this Thursday, Sept. 17, when Rodney Glassman and Jeff Haskell entertain in The Performance Garden.

All five fall concerts start at 7 p.m. Thursdays. Tickets for each show are $18 for the general public, $12 for park members. People who purchase tickets for the entire series receive a $5 package discount.

Glassman, described as "everyone's favorite singing Tucson city councilman," and "Tucson king of jazz" Haskell unite for an evening of fun, and classic tunes, from Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett to Nat King Cole and Louis Armstrong.

On Oct. 1, Ananeah conjures a fusion of Celtic, African, Native American, Gypsy, Latin, rock 'n' roll and jazz. The quartet's chemistry is "downright explosive," a release said.

On Oct. 15, the Santa Cruz River Band returns to Tohono Chul Park, utilizing "beautiful acoustic instrumenta¬tion, outstanding vocal harmonies, and masterful musicianship blended with skillful storytelling to bring the Southwest to life."

On Oct. 29, Michael Heralda uses the media of music, oral tradition stories, poetry, and narratives to share the culture of the Mexica /Aztecs from an indigenous perspective. Thirty five hand-made indigenous instruments are played in tandem with the oral lore surrounding the origins of the ceremony known as Dia de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead.

Then, on Nov. 5, the experienced DeGrazia Spanish Guitar band finishes the series. Domingo DeGrazia carries the role of front-man and band leader, while Grammy-nominated artist Jim Pavett brings percussion and live drums. Lead guitarist Dustin Jones rounds out the core of the band with guitar playing Spanish guitar that "easily moves between exotic and soulful."
