The St. Andrew's Bach Society Summer Concert Series presents its grand finale, the solo recital debut of Kim Toscano, percussionist and Tucson Symphony Orchestra principal timpanist.

Toscano performs, and speaks, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at the Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams St.

The "eclectic" concert features the premiere of the first work commissioned by the St. Andrew's Bach Society, "Circles of Magic and Dancing for Oboe and Percussion," by American composer Tony Zilincik. TSO principal oboist and artistic director Dr. Lindabeth Binkley joins Toscano in this performance.

Also featured are works by prominent Icelandic composer Áskell Másson, including a work for clarinet and darabouka with TSO principal clarinetist Dr. Jeremy Reynolds.

Toscano offers a "rare interactive opportunity to get inside the rhythmic world of percussion with this concert," a release said. "Join her as she talks about the instruments, their function, and the music during the course of the performance."

Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for students. All seating is general admission. Tickets may be purchased at the door beginning one hour prior to the performance.

For more information, visit www.standrewsbach.org, call artistic director Dr. Lindabeth Binkley at 520.323.2771, or e-mail lindabeth@standrewsbach.org.
