New sculptures by David Unger and oil paintings by Rock Jackson are being shown during March at Old Pueblo Frameworks and Gallery.

Unger creates abstract figures of men and women with geometric planes and rounded curves. His sculptures combine "really hard geometric planes, very angular," a release said.

Unger works in clay, then casts in bronze using the lost wax process.

"I know what I want to make when I start, so I sketch it first," Unger said. "But it changes when I start to work in the clay. It feels different in my hands, and it becomes different."

Dr. Rock Jackson is a retired Tucson surgeon and largely self-taught artist. "I learned free-hand sketching from my father, who was a gifted amateur artist," Jackson said.

Rock Jackson prefers charcoal, pastel, oil and acrylic. His favorite subjects are fly fishing, and western ranch and cowboy scenes.

The gallery is open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1825 E. River Road, in the Joesler Village development.
