Teens looking to begin babysitting careers can pick up the basics and more this summer at one of two babysitting classes offered by Northwest Fire District.
The two-day classes are being held Monday and Tuesday, June 23 and 24, and Monday and Tuesday, July 14 and 15. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, and students should bring a sack lunch. A registration fee of $20 must be paid in advance to reserve a spot.
The classes are intended to assure parents and teens alike that they’re ready to watch other children, according to the release.
“How do you know when someone is ready to babysit? When they turn 12? Fourteen? How about after they complete a class that teaches what to expect and how to entertain different ages, as well as CPR, First Aid, and fire extinguisher skills?” it said.
