The band Guilty Bystanders to open concerts

St. Philip’s Plaza will kick off its Saturday Night Live concert series starting Nov. 5.

Concerts begin at 6 p.m. in the center courtyard on the first Saturday of each month. Admission is free.

The concert schedule is: Nov. 5, Guilty Bystanders, playing original Americana music; Dec. 3, High Desert Bluegrass Band; Jan. 7, Retro Swing 7, playing classic swing and jazz; Feb. 4, Reno Del Mar, playing acoustic Latin music; and March 3, Quantum Nites, playing jazz.

St. Philip’s Plaza is located on the southeast corner of Campbell Avenue and River Road.

Free concert to feature cellist, pianist

Russian-born cellist Alexei Romanenko and Canadian pianist Christine Yoshikawa will perform a free concert featuring the classics to contemporary pieces on Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Steinway Piano Gallery, 3001 E. Skyline Drive, Suite 117, in Tucson.

The public may attend.

The duo are currently on tour throughout Arizona, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Boston, Chicago, St. Louis and New York.

Registration on for Tucson boys chorus

The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus is accepting registrations from boys ages 8-12 for its 2011-2012 season.  

The fall open enrollment is for boys in the third through sixth grades who have an interest in music. No prior musical experience is required.

Rehearsals are held on Wednesday and Friday afternoons.

Parents may call the chorus office at 296-6751 for more information and to register.
