As grand opening of its 2011-2012 Music On Campus season, the University of Arizona School of Music will present “Back to School at the Piano.” The recital begins at 7:30 p.m. in Crowder Hall on Wednesday, September 14.

An international field of University of Arizona piano students kicks off the season with a dazzling display of pianistic pyrotechnics. Featured will be graduate students Elena Miraztchiyska, Dylan Marney, Ian Houghton, Anton Faynberg, Chia-Chun Ko, Joo Young Oh and Kyung Lee, performing solos and duos that showcase the diverse talents of these promising young pianists.

The program will include works by Mozart, Liszt, Prokofiev, Boulez and more. For a grand finale, faculty members Tannis Gibson, Rex Woods, John Milbauer and Michael Dauphinais will delight everyone with an eight-hand performance.

Tickets cost $5. They can be purchased at www.arizona.tix.com or by calling the box office at 621-1162.
