New skin care director joins Specialists in Dermatology
Holla'e Ploof-Mnatzaganian has joined Specialists in Dermatology P.L.L.C. as skin care department director.
Ploof-Mnatzaganian brings more than 25 years of experience in hypertrichology, lasers and diagnostic skin care to the practice, a release said.
She was previously affiliated with Jeffrey M. Nelson, M.D., in Tucson. In affiliation with University Physicians Plastic Surgery in Tucson, she opened one of the nation's first FDA approved laser assisted hair elimination clinics. Prior to that she directed laser practice centers in Scottsdale, Beverly Hills and New York.
Ploof-Mnatzaganian is a charter member of the Society of Clinical and Medical Electrologists and has served as consultant to medical laser companies primarily using Palomar Medical technologies.
As a multi-certified laser therapist, she is a fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and is a certified trainer and educator for physician practices in ruby, diode, intense pulsed light systems and fractional lasers.
Specialists in Dermatology is located at 2732 N. Alvernon Way and 6130 N. La Cholla. It specializes in the treatment of a full range of general dermatology, dermatopathology and dermatologic surgery services, treating conditions of the skin, hair and nails. Goodwill enters lease in OV
Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona has entered a five-year lease in Oro Valley's Oracle Crossings development.
CB Richard Ellis represented the tenant in leases in both Oro Valley and Benson.
Goodwill is leasing 1,485 square feet at 7705 N. Oracle Road in Oro Valley. The landlord, Weingarten Realty Advisors of Houston, was represented by its in-house leasing agent, Taylor Vaughn. The donation center is scheduled to open in December.
Exact financial terms were not disclosed.
Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona operates 11 stores, including one outlet store and auction, and 17 donation locations.
Podiatrist joins staff at Northwest Medical Center
Podiatrist Dr. Peter Merrill has joined Northwest Medical Center as an independent member of the medical staff.
Dr. Merrill treats people of all ages for a variety of foot- and ankle-related issues. He is an athlete and sports coach who particularly enjoys taking care of young athletes, a release said.
To Dr. Merrill, "every foot tells a story about a life," the release continued. He has a special interest in educating diabetic patients about their feet, including how to prevent ulcerations and amputations.
Dr. Merrill is a husband and father who enjoys Jeep trails, hiking, fishing and attending local sporting events.

Woodworker at Studio C this Thursday
Jason Scott, a renowned woodworker and designer, is coming to Oro Valley to meet and mingle with clients at the Studio C showroom in Oro Valley.
Scott appears from 4 to 7 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 4. Studio C is located in Steam Pump Village, along Oracle Road in Oro Valley.
Jason Scott produces hand-carved furniture made from reclaimed teak in a small village on the exotic island of Java. Scott traveled the world, then found himself drawn back to Java, where he began manufacturing furniture. Scott now manages a team of more than 200 Javanese craftsmen whose work is stored in three factory warehouses throughout Java, then distributed in the U.S. He resides in Phoenix.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments are being served.
Sargent names Connelly to new services position
Sargent Aerospace & Defense has named Kevin Connelly to fill the new position of vice president, aftermarket services.
In the job, Connelly is responsible for leading all elements of Sargent's aftermarket services business, including original equipment and third-party maintenance, repair and overhaul work in Marana, Miami, Franklin, Ind., and Torrance, Calif.
"Kevin Connelly brings a unique combination of aviation aftermarket experience to Sargent and his appointment as vice president serves as the latest tangible demonstration of our commitment to this vital market segment," said Scott Still, president, Sargent Aerospace & Defense. "Kevin and his team will fully leverage our OEM and third-party capabilities and modern facilities to provide industry-leading repair, rotable, inventory and asset management solutions."
Connelly has more than 16 years of global experience in the aerospace business. Most recently, he served as general manager for ACE Service, a joint venture between Parker Aerospace and Singapore Airlines. His first MRO experience was with Sargent in Tucson, followed by the establishment of a facility in Miami, where he helped grow the company's aftermarket division. Connelly earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona and completed his MBA at UCLA.
Sargent is a leading supplier of precision engineered components and aftermarket services. It is an operating company within Dover Corp.'s industrial products segment.
Imes exec chef at Splendido
Jeremy Imes has been promoted to executive chef at Splendido, the upscale continuing care retirement community in Oro Valley.
Imes served as the community's sous chef for the past four years.
In his new position, Imes is overseeing culinary operations and menu development for Splendido's six dining venues and the community's health center, Sonora.
"Since our community opened in 2006, Jeremy has showcased a strong belief in providing residents with exceptional cuisine that rivals offerings at the region's finest resorts and restaurants," said Tom Rios, executive director of Splendido. "His understanding of seasonal ingredients and health-conscious offerings has brought exciting flavors that delight residents' palates and I know he'll continue to do so in his new role as executive chef."
Imes has had nearly 15 years of restaurant management and food-service experience from cooking in some of the Tucson region's most acclaimed dining establishments, such as Jonathan's Cork, City Grill and The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
