After a busy holiday season, Habitat for Humanity Tucson’s supply of hard hats has run “extremely low,” according to a release.

“As we continue to build our homes we need hard hats to ensure our volunteers’ noggins are protected,” said Michael McDonald, the group’s executive director. “So we’re turning to the community with this unique opportunity to get involved by asking them to donate hard hats.”

Hard hats range in price from $6 to $12 and can be found at any local hardware store.

Donated hats must meet the following criteria:

• New

• Adjustable

• Impact resistant

• OSHA approved

• Meet ANSI Z89.1, type class c, e and g requirements

Hard hats can be dropped off at the HabiStore, on the corner of Palo Verde and Ajo, or at the Habitat offices at 621 W. Lester St.
