Trico Electric Cooperative, Inc., is pleased to announce the 2013 POWER Grant program funding focus: Food and Basic Needs for Children.
“Our employees once again have chosen the funding focus this year,” said Vincent Nitido, Trico’s CEO and general manager. “With the continued downturn in the economy, kids are often the hardest hit. And our employees want to do what we can to help.”
Tax-exempt organizations that provide food and basic needs programs to children living in Trico’s service are encouraged to apply. Organizations may apply for grants up to $10,000. A total of $40,000 will be given.
Organizations do not have to be located in Trico’s service area to be eligible; however, the organization must demonstrate that the funds will be used to assist a significant number of children and youth in Trico’s service area.
Grant applications must be received at Trico’s offices by November 30, 3 p.m. Grants will be evaluated on a competitive basis and awards will be made for a single-year.
POWER Grant guidelines, applications and additional information are available at Trico’s web site, www.trico.coop. Additional information is also available by contacting Romi Carrell Wittman, Director of Communications, email@example.com.
Since the inception of the POWER Grants program in 2008, Trico has given $200,000 to local non-profits providing critical services to our community.
