Gloria White has joined the staff of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce as its business development director.
In the position, White is responsible for all membership solicitation, recruitment and retention, as well as representing the chamber at community events and meetings, a release said.
White was hired after an extensive search. She has been a volunteer on the chamber's membership, ambassador and events committees.
White previously worked for the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council. She is also on the Foundation Board of the Southern Arizona Humane Society, and is a Certified Tourism Ambassador with the Metropolitan Tucson Convention and Visitors Bureau.
White is originally from Indiana, and has worked in the hospitality and public relations industries. She moved to Tucson in 2001 from San Diego to join the Omni Tucson National Resort sales team. She is a past executive director of the Del Mar Chamber of Commerce.
"Combining the chamber with sales, I'm just ecstatic," White told the chamber breakfast crowd last week.
