Michelangelo Ristorante Italiano has now been voted the best for three years running, serving popular Italian food on the northwest side.

The family-owned establishment is quickly nearing its 25th anniversary.

Originally, Michelangelo’s started as Damiano on Stone and Drachman. Eventually, the establishment moved to its current location in May 1989.

Michelangelo’s serves fine Italian food, with dishes costing about $30 or less.

Oregano’s first opened the northwest side location in 2012. The establishment, which started in Scottdale in 1993, has quickly become a community favorite.

Oregano’s has more than 100 employees, makes pizza to order, with customers getting plenty of choices.

Customers can choose between thin or thick crust,  and a variety of toppings.

One favorite is the “Big Rig Pasta,” which is a bowl of rigatoni pasta covered in a tomato-chipotle cream sauce, chopped basil and diced roma tomatoes.

The establishment also has plenty of pastas and sandwiches.

The first In-n-Out Burger opened by Harry Snyder, who introduced California’s first drive-thru hamburger stand in a space barely 10 square feet at Francisquito and Garvey in Baldwin Park. Every day before dawn, Harry visited the meat and produce markets to pick out fresh ingredients, which he prepared by hand. Meanwhile, his wife Esther diligently took care of all the accounting for the new restaurant at their home right around the corner.

Over the years, In-n-Out has grown nationwide, becoming one of the most popular hamburger joints around.
