Jury to be selected tomorrow in road rage shooting case

A jury will be selected tomorrow in the case of David Arnold Mota, the man charged with shooting and killing 22-year-old Josh Switalski last February during a road rage incident in Oro Valley.

Time allowing, the trial will also begin tomorrow, likely some time in the afternoon.

Mota, of San Manuel was arrested on Feb. 28, 2013 after officers with the Oro Valley Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Oracle Road and First Avenue.

There, Switalksi was found suffering a gunshot wound, from which he would die shortly after arriving at a local area hospital.

Witnesses said prior to the shooting, Switalski and Mota appeared to be in a verbal altercation while traveling down Oracle Road.

Mota was taken into custody and booked in the Pima County Adult Detention Center.

He has been charged with first-degree murder, drive by shooting, and aggravated assault.
